Nicola Testoni was born in Sardinia island, (Italy) in 1978.
He graduated from the Fine Arts Academy of Bologna in 2004 with a thesis
entitled "Behind the Face: Norm, Form, Representation," under the supervision
of Professor Alberto Lolli. In 2003, he received an honorable mention among the
finalists of the Giorgio Morandi Engraving Prize.
Starting in 2010, he moved back to live in Sardinia. In 2018 he created the illustrations for the book "Nella mente di Alan Moore" an
Italian transcription of a biography of the Northampton writer, edited by Smoky
Man and based on the documentary The Mindscape of Alan Moore, directed by
Dez Vylenz.The pop culture magazine Linus used one of his illustrations as the header for an article on Alan Moore, to whom the December 2019 issue was dedicated.
In 2021, the painting named "unselfish ape" has been chosen being the cover of
the novel "Horda" by Ricardo Menéndez Salmón, published by Seix Barral
(Barcelona). He currently lives and works in Sardinia, exploring a genre inspired by the post-impressionist "Macchiaoli" technique, using oil, gouache and sculpture.His works are part of collections in Japan, Austria, the UK, and Italy.
